Over the past few months, Superpedestrian has expanded our global fleet of LINK scooters to over 30 cities, all while making major strides in sustainability. The most significant is undoubtedly our Climate Neutral Certification, which marks our commitment to measure and offset 100% of our carbon footprint.

We worked closely with the amazing team at Climate Neutral and received our official “certified” status this past Earth Day. But we won’t stop there!

This month, we launched our 1 RIDE 1 TREE initiative in cities across the United States. LINK will plant 1 tree for every ride on specially marked scooters in select markets. These special scooters are denoted with a hang tag. Riders simply take a ride on one of these scooters as normal, and we take care of the tree planting!

In addition to measuring and offsetting our footprint, we remain focused on reducing future emissions along our supply chain, field operations, and company operations. Beyond these reductions, our 1 Ride 1 Tree program is part of our plan to bring riders along on our eco-friendly journey.

Why are we planting trees? The benefits of trees are as numerous as their leaves. Trees help to clean the air and water, make the land more resilient to natural disasters such as floods, and provide habitat to diverse species. They also sequester carbon, with mature trees absorbing approximately 48 pounds of carbon per year!

Where will trees be planted? LINK is partnering with One Tree Planted to plant trees in National Forests on land stewarded by the United States Forest Service. One Tree Planted plants only native tree species, grown in local nurseries and planted when conditions are optimal for tree survival! We will also be working with Eden Reforestation Projects to plant trees internationally.

So what are you waiting for? Get out there and ride a special 1 Ride 1 Tree LINK scooter in a city near you!
