Four recognized leaders of the micromobility industry have joined the Superpedestrian/LINK team to bring our uniquely integrated e-scooters and operating platform to cities across the United States and Europe.

Says our CEO and Founder Assaf Biderman, “making micromobility work for cities is not about being first or being the most brash.”

Our focus for the last seven years has been to build software and control technologies that make micro-vehicles resilient and safe. We built a scooter fleet that is worthy of the world’s greatest cities. Now our mission is to show that with quality service and the right priorities, micromobility fleets can become an essential part of local transport, growing transit ridership while respecting the pedestrian right-of-way.

“We are fortunate that some of the best people in the industry have joined our team to fulfill the promise of micromobility,” Assaf adds.

Avra van der Zee is Vice President of Strategy and Policy. “Superpedestrian is investing in quality micromobility vehicles, and has industry-leading proprietary technology. I am joining a brilliant team that’s focused on the right things and is poised to show what can be accomplished when companies put cities first. I look forward to applying the hard-won lessons of the industry’s first wave to developing long lasting partnerships with cities across the globe.” Avra is the former General Counsel and Chief Strategy Officer at JUMP and Director of Global Market Entry at Uber.

Bill Knapp joins the team as Vice President of Operations. “To truly help cities meet their goals, especially in the current moment, requires a focus on delivering for our customers and city partners. It is time to put all the pieces together and show what shared e-scooters can really do to replace car trips.” A mobility veteran, Bill previously led operations for JUMP in the United States and Canada and prior to that held executive roles at Daimler and car2go in the US and Germany.

Haya Verwoord Douidri is Vice President of EMEA. “Micromobility has infinite potential post-COVID” says Haya, “Cities are expanding bike lanes and embracing two wheel transport. I’m thrilled to work with the world-class team at LINK to build true partnerships with local governments and provide our intelligent e-scooters to cities across Europe.” Haya is Bird’s former Head of Policy for Southern Europe, Benelux, and the Middle East

Paul Steely White is Director of Development and Public Affairs. “I knocked on Superpedestrian’s door because their team of urban planners and transport engineers are innovating on geofencing and delivering on vehicle safety better than anyone else in the sector. This company has the right tech and the right culture to ensure that we do right by the people who are already working to forge the post-car metropolis.” Paul has spent 20+ years fighting for safer streets, including as Head of Safety at Bird and Executive Director of Transportation Alternatives.

LINK’s vehicle fleets feature Superpedestrian’s e-scooters, equipped with our proprietary Vehicle Intelligence System (VIS), an onboard self-protection technology that monitors the entire vehicle and resolves potential issues in real-time, minimizing risk to the rider and the vehicle.

LINK, which launched in June 2020 with the acquisition of Zagster’s micromobility fleet operations business, is the shared micromobility division of Superpedestrian. Superpedestrian has been advancing human-scale electric transport since 2013, and developed the world-famous Copenhagen Wheel. By combining operational excellence with the most technologically advanced e-scooters in the industry, LINK is positioned to be the preferred partner to cities.

LINK’s approach is distinguished by a commitment to collaborate with cities, offering advanced e-scooters equipped with technology that enhances compliance with regulations such as speed limits and no-ride zones. LINK’s highly-resilient vehicles — which last for more than 2,500 rides and can travel up to 90 km on a single charge — keep per-ride operating costs around 50% lower than other operators.
